WOMEN & CHILDREN'S HEALTH

Our women and children’s program uses a multidisciplinary team approach in providing comprehensive and coordinated primary care through individual and group education sessions. Services include but not limited to: well woman check ups and well baby check ups for FHT patients, and education on pediatric nutrition and infant sleep for all patients.

GROUPS & ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

PEDIATRIC NUTRITION 
Our pediatric sessions covers – information and education on infant feeding, introducing solid food, growth and development, nutritional deficiencies, common nutritional issues, picky eating, weaning, vegetarian eating, food allergies, etc. in infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

ADOLESCENCE NUTRITION
Our adolescent sessions focuses on education on growth and development, vegetarian diet, healthy weight, eating disorders, physical activity/sports, energy drinks and supplements, specific nutritional concerns such as vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency, food allergies, constipation, etc. in adolescents.

FIRST YEAR WITH YOUR BABY 
This one on one program is for expectant parents and for parents of infants’ 0-12months. Education and support to empower parents/new moms to follow their instincts to get more sleep, while supporting the well-being of all members of the family and preserving relationships. A holistic approach investigating root causes rather than focusing on behavioural symptoms. Routines/patterns, emotional well-being, temperament, culture/lifestyle, individual sleep needs/requirements, environment, nutrition, and development are among some of the topics discussed.

MENOPAUSE BASICS 
Want to learn more about menopause and what to expect? Look no further! This one time workshop will equip you with an understanding of what happens inside a woman’s body during this natural stage of transition and simple lifestyle strategies to alleviate some of the most common discomforts experienced. In this workshop we will also discuss nutrition, sexual and genitourinary health, hormone replacement and complementary alternative therapies as it pertains to menopause.

PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISE
Education and exercise provided by Physiotherapist to increase awareness of posture, breathing, core and pelvic floor muscles; to help manage and prevent symptoms of low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction (e.g., incontinence, pain and prolapse).
